The Thomas More University women’s tennis team fell, 6-1, to Asbury University on Saturday evening (February 29, 2020) in a non-conference match played indoors at Five Seasons Sports Club in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

NOTABLES

  • The Saints fall to 3-4 on the season.
  • The Eagles improve to 1-0.
  • Senior Brooke Warden (Edgewood, Ky./Dixie Heights) was a 6-1, 6-2 winner at No. 1 singles.
  • Warden and first-year Kimberly Sabga (Maraual, Trinidad and Tobago/International School of Port of Spain) won 6-2 at No. 1 doubles.
  • The No. 3 doubles team of sophomore Alyssa Dowdell (Vine Grove, Ky./North Harden) and sophomore Kayla Snyder (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) battled, but fell 7-5.

UP NEXT:

  • The Saints will head south March 9-3 to compete in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
  • Thomas More will play Milligan University, Lawrence Institute of Technology, Albany State University and Western Illinois University, while on the road trip.
